I went ahead and purchased MakeMKV but there's a few things it could do that would make ripping easier.
1. For BluRay under INFO for a title show the playlist number as some of the information.
2. For DVDs, sometimes it eliminates duplicate title chains but the one it keeps is not the one reported by MPC-HC and other DVD playback software making mapping content to title sets harder than it needs to be. For duplicate chains perhaps keep the alternate title IDs in the list so show "Source Title ID: 02, 05" or something in cases like that.
3. The title number for file naming should actually reflect the title ID for the source media. It should match the DVD title ID. For BluRay it should match the playlist number.
Periodically this error shows up on various drives.
"Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:READ OF SCRAMBLED SECTOR WITHOUT AUTHENTICATION' occurred while reading 'BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BP60NB10 1.00' at offset '1048576'" it doesn't seem to actually mean anything useful as it still reads the disc fine.

Re: Some Comments and Suggestions
1. Play list information is there, as in "Source file name: 00102.mpls"
3. For title numbers, MakeMKV enumerates them by the order they're found in the disk directory, and not counting any that are "too short". This means the title numbers will be different, depending on what you set the minimum title length to.
There have been requests before to sort the list by file name (so far rejected).
I do not see a way to insert the play list number into the MKV file name in the default output file name template.

Another feature request:
For BluRay it currently adds the playlists as title numbers in an ad-hoc order.
e.g.
"Playlist 00011.mpls" added as Title #0
"Playlist 00001.mpls" added as Title #1
"Playlist 00000.mpls" added as Title #2
Could this please be at least sorted?
"Playlist 00000.mpls" added as Title #0
"Playlist 00001.mpls" added as Title #1
"Playlist 00011.mpls" added as Title #2
or even better:
"Playlist 00000.mpls" added as Title #0
"Playlist 00001.mpls" added as Title #1
"Playlist 00011.mpls" added as Title #11
