Best Buy Steelbook copy works for me, no dump required. (I'm guessing you both got yours from Amazon, which I sometimes have problems decrypting on release day. So weird.)

So I'm pretty new to the UHD scene, but have been using MakeMKV for a long time. I have only ripped a few UHD movies with my WH16NS60. Godzilla was the first disk I failed to decrypt. How does dumping out the keys work? Where did you submit them? How does MakeMKV get updated to handle this disk? Will using the backup feature in MakeMKV allow me to decrypt it at a later time?

My regular 4k disc from Best Buy worked. Two files listed both same duration so not sure what is different. I just pulled the first listing. Overall worked fine. Thanks to whoever sent in the info first. I usually do not buy the disc the first week but I was out and about so picked it up. Hope it is an ok movie.

When decryption fails, MakeMKV creates a dump file. (It will tell you the dump file’s location.) Send an e-mail to svq@makemkv.com with the dump file attached.

The developers will take the dump files that they have received from users, and once they’ve decrypted the disc, you’ll be able to do so as well. Just make sure your computer is connected to the internet, and it will update the key for that disc. It usually takes a day or two. Up to a week.

Yes, you can make an encrypted backup to your computer in the meantime and decrypt it later. Decrypting from a file is much quicker than from a disc anyway.

Thanks for this suggestion. I forgot about making a backup for now and decrypting later.

I assume there have already been plenty of submissions with the dump file and it's just a matter of time before we can decrypt this.

Was able to rip successfully Godzilla King of the Monsters 4K UHD. Using Asus BW-16D1HT with Firmware 3.00 in Mac OS Sierra. MakeMKV version 1.14.3

Are we still waiting on the volume key for this or am I doing something wrong?

I have the same drive, but on firmware 3.10 using the latest 1.14.7 release and SDF file. Odd that it works on Mac OS, but not Windows 10.
