[scarf]

hi. thanks for bringing this application to the open source community. i will share my first experience with it, attempting to convert a blu-ray disc structure on my hard disk. the problems i have may be due to the blu-ray files and not makemkv.

i am using ubuntu 8.10 x86_64 with linux-2.6.27-11-generic. the application has compiled and opened fine.

i have gone to 'file > open files' and selected the index.bdmv. i have enabled 'log debug messages', but i cannot copy any of the text and post it here. is a log file made somewhere? can you tell me how to easily post it? there are several FAILURE error messages and the final result is 'title 0001.m2ts was skipped'. if i continue and try to make the MKV anyway, there are more FAILURE errors, 'error while reading input', and 'unable to save title'.

i have tried watching all of the m2ts files with mplayer, and there were several hiccups during playback but overall i was able to watch the entire movie. here is the output of mplayer during playback:

The titles were skipped because of non-conformant mpeg-4 elementary stream. Whak kind of disc is it? Was it a standard blu-ray disc or it was created by some tool? We've seen the same problem with some "blu-ray rips" that were incorrectly multiplexed. The secon error is rather ugly - it failed because /tmp/blabla directory did not exist.

it is probably as you say a 'bad rip', or non-compliant, or something using non-standard method. i can't see any info regarding how it was created, but i do see that i should be able to burn the files to double-layer dvd and playback on AVCHD player like PS3... so, kinda strange processing was done, it seems.
