LibreDrive Help

Post by seanbrown427 »

Hey all, I have been fairly self sufficient here but I'm confused about getting LibreDrive working. I flashed LG BH14NS40 to the Ver 1.0 from reading all the posts and am making the assumption that it is one that Mike has developed the software for since it seems to be a fairly popular drive. This is what I am getting in MakeMkv from the status screen. Is there an additional step I need to follow to get this working?

Drive Information
OS device name: \Device\CdRom0
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BH14NS40
Revision: 1.00
Serial number: K94ECH95744
Firmware date: 2112-06-16 18:23
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 68

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: MT1939

Any help would be appreciated. Because right now it will NOT open any UHD disks and I have a few that I need to put on the HTPC.

Thank you all!

This appears (FW date) to be a SVC NS40 drive, manufactured prior to late 2015. NOT UHD capable.

1. As the drive info you posted clearly states:

“Status: Possible, not yet enabled”

This feature is enabled by Mike (developer of MakeMKV) as support is added to the application on a per-drive basis. There is NO on/off switch that you/we can control.

Very clearly detailed here by Mike himself:

2. Your drive is too old for UHD support. Discussed hundreds of times within the walls of this forum. Forum search function works:

AND THIS:

ALTHOUGH, I am actually surprised the flash you mention you executed against this drive did not brick the drive. UNLESS, the firmware info being reported is incorrect somehow?

When exactly did you purchase this drive?

Does it currently read ANY discs of ANY type/format?

3. Libredrive is NOT a magic pill for AACS decryption of all kinds. READ this:
