Forced update to 1.6 now not working

I recently downloaded 1.5.8 for Ubuntu 10.04 and was thrilled that I had no issues with my first 2 blueray disks ripped and decoded to disk

I wanted to try some more this morning and I could not start 1.5.8 I had to download 1.6, After doing so all I get are errors( See below ) on 3 more disks.

Just for sanity I went back to the disks that worked fine on 1.5.8, they no longer work.

I attempted as root or the user "media" no difference.

Very dejected I was looking forward to blueray's on the hometheater PC. FYI , Forcing upgrades from working versions is NOT something I am a fan of. No way to tell if it is 1.6 or something that may have changed on the system. I tried to reinstall 1.5.8 and shut down the internet but no-joy you must write it somewhere on my system. Please notify of updates but don't require them.

make mkv crashes with Fatal error occurred. Program will now exit

this happens every time on the same file /AACS/MKB_RO.txt. Just confirmed that The fellow ship of the ring also works with 1.5.8

I only have 30 days, and it didn't reset!

MakeMKV has no forced update. You should be able to use 1.5.8, providing you set the clock to september 2nd 2010, enter the current beta key and revert clock to real date.

so 1.6.0 under Ubuntu 10.04 32-bit running in VirtualBox works fine. here is a log for proof...i figure if it works in VB it would work normally...if you want i can boot live cd and try it that way as well. let me know and keep up the good work.

I've used MakeMKV consistently across Windows (32/64 bit), and Ubuntu x64 with no problems, until 1.6. Now I get the same error as above with ILLEGAL REQUEST, however it also crashes about 50% of the time. I've included two error logs, one from running as "root", and one from running as my normal account. Root actually crashed and almost always does. My normal account didn't this time, it just refused to open the disc.

All the errors are running 1.6 on Ubuntu 10.04 x64, kernel 2.6.32-25-generic.

I hope this helps the team get a fix released, because I love the software.

It's confirmed - 1.6.0 x64 is broken and there is no workaround. The 1.6.1 update is now available, only binary part is updated, oss is still 1.6.0 and doesn't need to be updated.
