its not a dos program you need a semi full windows environment use the pe i linkedkillkong1211 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 8:13 amI'm in PE now but the lg flasher won't launch, it should just launch if I try to run it yeah? No extra steps needed?Billycar11 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 7:54 am
try making a bootable pe windows on a flashdrive https://www.aomeitech.com/pe-builder.html i have flashed 100+ drive in that it should work
the asus flasher wont work on that one no .net but that eliminates the software variables completely.
then you just try asus 3.10mk with the lg flasher and see if it works if not your probably just better buying a preflashed one
because then your sata controller or something is not passing the commands
Edit: tried to launch from cmd and got the attached

I did use the one you linkedBillycar11 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 8:21 amits not a dos program you need a semi full windows environment use the pe i linked
If I try to launch the flasher from the gui it doesn't do anything and if I try to invoke it from command line (which is just the slow way of doing it via gui) it gives that error
All the defaults applied for the pe should be fine yeah?
Edit: I did choose 64 bit, do you use 32?

this is a weird one the only other thing i would think it is beside the flashers not liking your sata controller is if lg has another version of 1.04 that is different from the other and it blocks it again.killkong1211 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 8:39 am32bit allowed me to launch the app but same issue, gunna try on the win 7 nowBillycar11 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 8:31 ami did use 32 because old dos flash needed it but i wouldn't think that would matter but i guess try 32 bit

Definitely selecting the 3.10mkBillycar11 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 8:45 amthis is a weird one the only other thing i would think it is beside the flashers not liking your sata controller is if lg has another version of 1.04 that is different from the other and it blocks it again.

Manufacture date is April, so I guess it's possible since I've seen a lot of the posts referencing the NS55 1.04 mention a feb date.
But you'd know better than me on that
I grabbed it from there and relabled it cause I saw another post mentioning issues with a long file name
Edit: downloaded again just in case I got a bad copy, no change

All good, the help is much appreciated even if we didn't crack the case tonight.Billycar11 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 8:57 ami have still to get a 1.04 lg and i have gotten some from after feb 2019 lg seems to not have done it for the wh drives in the usa yet i get 1.03 BU40Ns all the time though. im kinda out of ideas then sorry.
If you wanna get hands on with a 1.04 I got mine from PCCasegear
And hey at least now we know 32bit is the only thing to run the flasher haha
Edit: Further bad news, tried using my NAS booted off the PE which is the middle set of hardware between my win 7 and win 10 and I got the same error as on the win7, that doesn't seem ideal

Re: LG BH16NS55 Firmware 1.04 (and possibly other new drives)
I have had heaps of these drives, mostly manufactured in April and never had a problem flashing them. I use the asus flasher with 3.10-MK then flash whatever firmware I want after that. This is all done on my win10 64bit machine.
Cheers

Any thoughts on what else to try? I feel like we've been pretty comprehensive in our testing so farMartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 10:14 amI have had heaps of these drives, mostly manufactured in April and never had a problem flashing them. What motherboard do you have just out of curiosity?

Did you fix your AHCI settings that you had messed with before trying again?
Cheers
