DVD menu

When I make a mkv file from a dvd, how do I include the menu? I made the mkv file from a DVD but when I play it, it does not show the root menu where I can do the scene selection. Thanks

As far as I'm aware, mkv's don't support DVD menus. At least not yet...
You should find that the chapter points are there though, so to access scenes, you need to start playing and then skip to the relevant chapter point.

Look at http://www.matroska.org/technical/whatis/index.html what mkv is and wich features there are available.

Menus/chapters are available.

If you look on a makemkv generated mkv-file with Mediainfo (free download available on matroska.org), you'll see chapters there. Maybe your media player does not support this. You'll find there also some mediaplayers - f.e. "Media Player Classic", which support chapters.
