Waterworld 4k UHD won't rip

Been trying to open the newly released Waterworld UHD disc unsuccessfully. I get the "The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted. I have emailed a dump for this movie. I have successfully ripped a few UHD movies including the UHD Matrix Trilogy and the new UHD Batman movie and a few others, but I'm stumped on this new release of Waterworld. I was under the impression that through the new Libremode any UHD disc could be opened without fussing around with keys but now I see Libremode works only for regular Blu-rays .

That’s not what LibreDrive is exclusively for when it comes to ripping/backing up/reading disc media. Of any kind/type. It is not entirely how decryption of AACS protection schemes works. Overall it’s a multi-part process. LibreDrive affects/touches only part of that process.

Additional discussions on the matter have taken place across this forum as well. The forum search function will provide those if needed/curious.

Keys for UHD discs will ALWAYS be needed until AACS 2.0 and any of its revisions are fully cracked. If ever.

Yeah I submitted a dump too. I have tried running the disc again but still doesn't work. Hopefully soon.

Tried it again. Still nothing, but sometimes it takes a few days. Thanks as always to the developers!

To be fair, my understanding is that it’s ONE guy (Mike) doing all this. If that’s true, then I certainly can’t blame him. I’m sure a fix will come eventually.

That said... Just tried again, and still nothing.

I have a very strange problem. It seems to get further along in the decrypting process - further than before - but then still "Fails to open disc" with the following messages:

Using direct disc access mode
Using LibreDrive mode (v05 id=E064BA3E3F81)
Saved AACS dump file as /MakeMKV/MKB20_v68_Waterworld_F4A0.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted

Should I send the dump again? (For the record, I have a regular - not steelbook - U.S. copy from Amazon.)

EDIT: By the way, I understand it makes sense that the decrypting is often different from different vendors. I just think it's weird in this scenario because it LOOKED like it was decrypting - much further than before - but then still failed.

Yup now working for me as well . I don't have a UHD player (Use Plex/Infuse Apple TV) so I have not been able to watch this new release. Excited!

Has anyone successfully backed up Waterworld 4k (EU)? It´s not working for me. Tried two different cd-roms, both stop ripping at about 50%. Tried Iso and mkv. Not working for European version...
