Depending on the drive I use, I may see debug messages during the rip, either to folder or to mkv.
The rip completes and appears successful.
If I re-rip using a different drive, same movie, I don't see any debug messages.
Should I be concerned over the debug messages from the first rip/drive combo?
Does makemkv do some kind of checksum on the rip to ensure it rip'd without error?
Cheers
General makemkv question re: debug messages
Re: General makemkv question re: debug messages
My advice has always been to only enable debug/sync telemetry when actually debugging a problem. Without Mike's 'secret decoder ring', they are largely useless & only cause questions/angst. Do the rips complete successfully on both drives?
Speculation... these seemingly obscure msgs allow Mike to follow code paths/status while implementing new libredrive functionality on potentially supported drives. Just a guess.

Re: General makemkv question re: debug messages
according to makemkv they do complete successfully.
i have not noticed an issue with playback.
it’s partially curiosity and partially wanting to ensure i have a bit perfect backup.

Re: General makemkv question re: debug messages
Same file size? If you're hellbent on determining if there's actually a difference, you could generate/compare the checksum for each file. How curious are you?
