I received my 16D1HT this evening and quickly installed it into my newly purchased OWC Mercury Pro enclosure and ran the firmware tool - 20 seconds later firmware 3.03 had been replaced with 3.02 - thank you for making such a user friendly firmware took available!

Nice to be ripping at 7.6x rather than locked to 2x on my UJ265 (sat within my NCase m1 case).

There's just the minor matter of actually purchasing a 4K blu-ray now....
You're welcome!
Cheers :D

Apologies because I guess you've been asked this a million times before, but I can use this ASUS flasher to downgrade a LG BD-RE BH16NS55 firmware 1.03 Firmware date: 2117-11-20 to version 1.02 and I'll be able to rip 4K blurays ?

I should download a version from Mediaflare ?, extract it, run the ASUS exe file and it'll give me an option to install version 1.02 ?

(I have read posts about DE and MK versions and LibreDrive and it still baffles me)

Wowzer, that was quick and easy and actually seems to have worked. Its on 1.02 now. Am seriously getting quite tempted to throw caution to the winds and buy a 4K movie to test properly.

Thanks very much. :D :D :D

A motherboard having SATA controller set as IDE (not AHCI !!!)

Is this change needed for the new method too?

After reading a lot I am confused what I have to do.

I have got a brand new Asus BW-16D1HT 3.03. I can backup 2k movies, but 4k is not recognized. Please tell me what to do. I use Ubuntu, so probably I have to connect the drive to a Windows pc?

A win10 pc is easiest option. Otherwise a win10 VM or create a win10 PE usb stick and boot into that.

Thanks, I see I have to connect it to a win pc. Is there are difference between the different windows 10 versions? I think I could use a Win 10 1809 version or a Win 7. Is Win 7 as fine as Win 10? Win 7 would be easier for me.

Win7 should work. Give it a try. Let us know how you go.

MartyMcNuts, thank you sooooo much for making this! I'm ripping my very first UHD on my brand new WH16NS60. Plus I just ripped a regular blu-ray that my old Pioneer BDR-XD04 would choked on.

Hi,
I just bought a BC-12D2HT drive that uses 3.11 fw.
I've tried your tool but it doesn't work, always failure #4. maybe a 3.11 patched fw is needed ?

Can you help me to downgrade the fw?

thanks a lot
flash asus 3.10 mk then your desired fw and you should be good
let us know never seen 3.11 before, might want mike to make a dump of it he seems to know how on drives with dosflash disabled
I tried your suggestion and it worked at the very first try.
thanks a lot!
Please provide the tool/link I can not find any tool which is able to downgrade from 3.11 to 3.10

I can not find any tool to downgrade BC-12D2HT from 3.11 to 3.10 at this location. Might be removed.
Any other resource available?
ASUS_ODD_FW_Changer_(Modified).exe is always throwing Error #4

You just flash the bw16d1ht 3.10 and if you don't want that firmware then flash your firmware of choice it the only way to drown grade for now if you have 3.10 or higher on Asus drives
