Created a decrypted backup of the recent release of "The Doctor 1991" (Kino Lorber) successfully without any notified errors, however when playing back the title there is a periodic loud click from the audio, periodic video pixellation and the video speed increases and decreases at times as though there is corruption to the data, although it will play properly for about 5 seconds or so between bouts of corruption.
Would this be a form of DRM protection that is not being properly removed by Makemkv and how would I fix it?
The Doctor 1991 USA Decrypted Backup Playback Issues
Re: The Doctor 1991 USA Decrypted Backup Playback Issues
Update: it's not actually a decryption issue as a copy of the backup plays fine on a different drive.
It seems that the drive I was using is malfunctioning and possibly fragmenting the file so much near the end of the drive that the read speed is so low decoding can't keep up to maintain real-time and data is being skipped. Beware the new thin WD 2TB Elements portable drives as the heads can chatter backwards and forwards constantly leading to issues.
