Questions about my Pioneer BDR-211 drive

#1 Post by RedSocks157 » Mon Mar 11, 2019 11:13 pm

I got this drive because it was UHD-capable. Now, I've discovered that it is locked out at a firmware level from ripping UHD discs which is pretty BS for a $100+ device. How can I get it to rip these discs? I Googled a bunch and found DVRTool, heard about LibreDisc, ect. None of these are working for me right now. Is there anyone who can walk me through what I need to do? Is this thing just trash?

Thanks guys!!

Even with this new LibreDrive thing that everyone is talking about? That's a bummer. I'm not getting a 4K TV right away so it was more just to have it anyways, I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

My understanding is that "... this new LibreDrive thing" is a work in progress. Support for various additional drives will be added over time.
