Yup got it and sent it back
not sure what drive you have you never said and it was just labeled dump so I just put it in an Asus 3.02 it will work on any drive that's uhd friendly so don't worry if you don't have an asus
Hi everyone. I used the Windows Method up until step 7 for dumping the 1.03 firmware that came with my ASUS BW-16D1HT drive. Would someone please create the downgraded firmware for the drive. I have attached the 1.03 firmware dump of my drive.

I'm still unable to read any UHD disk despite being able to flash it to 3.01 or 3.02. My drive was manufactured in May 2018 came with 3.03, not sure if this has anything to do with it. If anyone has some ideas, it will be highly appreciated.

No you can't use someone else's file it will brick your drive. Read the first page it tells you how to downgrade.
Thanks, but this is the only procedure ? is it mandatory ? I have some difficulties for the dumping section.
Is there not a version that can be flashed in the drive directly without this procedure?
Hey Jobber i'm just bought mine too with 3.03. Why did you go for the 3.01 instead of the 3.02? Better speed? Reliability?
No particular reason. It's working great. If anyone can tell me benefits of 3.02 over 3.01 I might upgrade it, but why change something that is working fine? (Sorry for the long delay in replying; have been traveling extensively for weeks).

Yes it can DVD, BD etc. when I insert UHD disk, it will do loud seek for long time then it just stops and drive reports that it is empty.
I've seen that behavior more than once recently. It's gotten to the point where I'll flash a drive twice, and always force the drive to reboot by closing the dosflash window and then opening it again to verify the drive is recognized as having the new firmware.

i only ran in to one asus drive like that once it had a 8/18 build date and on the original firmware it would read everything fine but UHD disks but on any other firmware it would read regular blurays slow like 2x speed and would take 35mins to even see a uhd disk maybe on that one and yours asus had an old lg drive that was ns40 or something and just put it in.

I have dumped the firmware but I am struggling to find the clean FW to do the merge, the zippyshare link is trying to install some messenger software and that scares me, does anyone have an alternative option please?
