Dolby Atmos

#1 Post by kkahn » Sun Jan 13, 2019 9:09 am

I have ripped Deadpool, the Fith Element, Baker runner 2049, Bladerunenr; however, I do not see an Atmos track (all of these movies should have Atmos). The highest rated track is Dolby TruHD 7.1. Is there any fix?

That is the Atmos track. Atmos is sort of baked into the Dolby TrueHD track. If you play it on a supported player you will see that it plays Atmos
While Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD are two separate soundtrack formats, Atmos data on Ultra HD Blu-ray is actually an extension to TrueHD that is folded into the bitstream to maintain backwards compatibility. Here’s how that works: If you play a disc with an Atmos soundtrack, the Atmos extension data is decoded by an Atmos-compatible receiver. If your receiver isn’t Atmos compatible, the extension data is ignored and the soundtrack is decoded as regular Dolby TrueHD.

it is like the DTS Core track where DTS-MA sits on top of it. gives you that BC capability when needed
