Cars 2 chronic problems.

#1 Post by martinav » Sat Jan 05, 2019 5:01 pm

I have very little problem ripping with makemkv. Of course, there are scratched ones and such that I don't put into that category... but, what is the deal with Cars 2? I have a 2nd copy of a visually pristine disk that I have not been able to complete. They finish the initial read, and I pick the track. It hangs up on segment 872. I get hundreds of errors:

The source file '/BDMV/STREAM/00872.m2ts' is corrupt or invalid at offset 62367744, attempting to work around

I have tried 4 different drives, and two different CPUs.

Repeatable problem?

I'll try my 100% unplayed, and likely still in the shrink wrap copy after the Cowboys game.

Yup.. it ripped the entire disc fully (non MKV) and then i did it again, with subtitles, 5.1 Audio without any issues to a MKV.

Nope. None.

I just received another one in the mail from ebay. Again, pristine. Same issue, same problem with segment 872.

What the stink?

Sorry you missed the reply, but I ripped it no problems.. I did a complete backup, and one straight to MKV.. no hanging, and i skimmed through at random parts to see if it would crap itself out and nothing. my bluray drive is pretty old though. i've never updated the firmware either..

What do you use to rip the entire disk?? To an iso?

Probably used the "Backup" option, rather than Open/Save to MKV.

On all three disks I have attempted, either a normal mkv extration, backup, or anydvd create image fails. Every time, segment 872 is the problem.

@HeavyMetalWarrior, how did you copy the disk first?

i just put it into MakeMKV and hit the button to load it.. picked the video / audio track I wanted, then let 'er go. i think i have AnyDVD on my laptop, I'll try that and see if i can duplicate your error.
