MKV UHD of The Hunger Games plays with correct colors, but snapshots in VLC washed out

MKV UHD of The Hunger Games plays with correct colors, but snapshots in VLC washed out

Sort of a minor problem but I thought I'd ask because I'm curious as to why it happens. I'm playing an MKV of UHD The Hunger Games (2012) and on my screen it looks like this

but when I take a screenshot with CMD+OPTION+S it looks like this

Why is it doing this?

I'm admittedly new to this so I might be missing something obvious. :mrgreen:

VLC is not compatible with High Dynamic Range (HDR) video yet. There are only a few PC applications that are.

What would be the best way to take full-resolution screenshots with the correct colors from this MKV file?

I will install a Boot Camp partition if necessary!
