Does Makemkv keep the HDR in the making?

Hi,I just wondered if makemkv retains the HDR feature in its making of an mkv movie? If not, what can be done to keep it? Another program along with it, perhaps? Thanks for any info and direction to proceed to keep the HDR in the movie.

As always, your playback hardware/software has to support HDR as well.
