"This device does not exist"

#1 Post by nanoman06 » Sun Aug 05, 2018 4:03 am

The last 5-6 rips I attempted on my BD-ROM ATAPI iHES112 3 ML05 have failed. As far as I can tell, the drive does work and the discs are good as they work in my other drives.

The rip always ends in the following:

Error 'OS' error - 'This device does not exist' occured while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/XXXXX.m2ts' at offset 'XXXXXXXXXXX'

The amount of progress the last two discs appeared to be exactly 50%. I'm running W10 x64 1803. Using MakeMKV v1.12.3. I have tried swapping power and sata cables between this drive and others that are working. I have also rebooted a few times. Any ideas? I'm hopeful that the drive is not dying =/

You might try reverting to v1.12.2. Some people have had issues with v1.12.3 so it might help. In my case, I have not had any issues with the new version and I have ripped 2 UHD discs with it today and a bluray disc. Post back if you try this.
