This application version is too old.

#1 Post by Bersquack » Sun Apr 04, 2010 1:55 pm

Hi everybody.

I have been having the following message each time I try to use Make MKV: This application version is too old. Please doenload the latest version...

The thing is that I have 1.5.2 Beta installed, so I do not know why it is locking me out. I also uninstalled and reinstalled and I still have the same problem.

Couls something be wrong with my registries?

Thanks.

Any chance your system clock is way off ?

If you think it's registry issue, you could do the fallowing (at your own risk):

Code: Select all

1. Fully backup your registry (and whole machine, if possible)
2. uninstall makemkv
3. run regedit
4. Look for all "MakeMKV" KEYs and delete them (Keys are top checkbox in the find box in regedit.)

OR you could follow this link http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1053 and just plug in the registration code:
run MakeMKV
-> Help -> Register -> new code from above link.

Have you inadvertently changed the system date on your PC?

Please use the temporary beta key at http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1053 , it will reset the expiration date.

Uninstall the version that's presently on your system and then download and install a fresh one from the makemkv.com website...

Application too old problem

#10 Post by syztemlord » Sat Jul 17, 2010 10:35 am

Hi,

I'm running 1.5.6 which has been working fine for a week now but I tried it today and I'm getting the "Application is too old" message. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling a freash copy but I still get the same message. Any ideas?

Ok, just fixed it. I put the system date back to the first of this month and opened the program, which was ok. I then put in the beta key and put the date back as today. All is good! :D

I have the same problem. It just started happening this morning.

Version 1.5.6 Windows 7 64-bit

Downloading and re-installing per the message does not fix it.
