I couldn't find one but I read it is safe to flash with the Asus BW-16d1HT. Its in the clean files zip linked to op. I did use that firmware and was able to read UHD discs.

Yep, I gave up, but if you do find the vanilla 300, please do post here, I'll use it to get my drive to that firmware too. I'll do the same if I come across the firmware.

What do you mean with clean/vanilla firmware? Would a dump from a drive which came with the 3.0.0 be enough?

Hi mate, if you (or your friend) need, I've the 3.00 firmware and I can create a working one for your friend.
Would be great, just tried myself with the 3.0.0 from myce, ended up killing the drive, but always a good thing dosflash could wake it to life again
I have 3 of the ASUS BC-12D2HT drives which i just received from Amazon. All of these drives have version 3.01 firmware and i would like to fix them to work with UHD disks. I am not super technical but i can flash the drives if someone can be so kind and post the corrected firmware to make them work or email it to me...
Thanks again great people !! Email:

Haven't seen a clean Asus BC-12D2HT FW. Someone (above) reports success with a crossflash.

Even though a dump has already been attached here's also a clean 3.00 firmware.
But as it's "slow" as most LG drives i'd recommend to use the BW-16D1HT firmware on that combo drive.

There seems to be very little this cross flasher cannot do. I've got six different drive models, all ASUS and LG of course, all reporting in as BW-16D1HTs and the read speed is solid. I'm watching a BC-12D2HT and an WH14NS40 both read at 7.7X sustained when it hits the main m2ts file and really gets to open up. This is great.
