Skipping Titles That it Incorrectly Thinks are Duplicates

Post by dshefman »

I am trying to rip 30+ home dvds to mkv files. However, I get this same message on every dvd, "Title # in VTS # is equal to title # and was skipped" (See output below). So far the error has occurred with all of the first 6 dvds I have tried. MakeMKV only ever returns 4 Titles for every dvd, no matter how many titles actually exist on the dvd.

Additionally, I tried the workaround suggested here (https://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4706) to make a full back up to avoid skipped titles, but the full back up option is grayed out in the GUI; i.e., unavailable.

Does anyone know how I can rip every title from my home dvds using MakeMKV? This is really important to me because these are the only surviving copies of these home vidoes and if something ever happens to these dvds then these family movies will be lost forever.

Configuration:
Windows 10 64 bit
MakeMKV v1.12.0 [win(x64-release)] (latest version)
GUI version v1.12.0 [win(x86-release)] (latest version)

Backup is a Bluray-only feature. But Manual DVD mode is DVD-only.

My suggestion would be to follow the information in the FAQ link in my signature, and send the information to support@makemkv.com for Mike to look at.
