MakeMKV Source: BD-RE HL -DT -ST BD-RE BE16NU50 1.01
Apologises for what is probably a stupid question, but my new BE16NU50 is reported as the source in MakeMKV with 1.01 at the end.
Does this refer to the players firmware?
Many Thanks

I didn't want to play with any software to check just in case I triggered an update.

Ive got the same drive with FW 1.00 and it works great I don't see a need to change any FW or any cfg files.I have ripped several of the UHD discs that I own and they have ripped fine no real problems.I try to keep my make mkv version up to date and the hashed key file current.I just wanted to pass that along.
however i wonder if LG will try to force an update on this drive through windows update ?

My first LG drive had the version 1.01. I ordered an additional drive and it has 1.02. Will that work ripping 4K movies? Or do I need to downgrade firmware?

I got one with 1.02 and it didn't work. It just ejected the disc after a few seconds.audioguy wrote:My first LG drive had the version 1.01. I ordered an additional drive and it has 1.02. Will that work ripping 4K movies? Or do I need to downgrade firmware?

You can downgrade it to 1.01 after proper firmware dump.

As Mike said in another post.... If your not comfortable using the current methods, just wait for more user-friendly tools to be released..

I've been digging and can't find the other thread with instructions. I also upgraded to 1.02 and need to re-flash to 1.01.
Can someone please post it?
Fingers crossed!
