The disc backs up just fine, so it's not a problem with reading the data on the disc.

Will submit to support, and report back here if I hear anything.

Here is the resolution for this one, in case anyone runs into this same problem.

Mike advised me to try ripping only some tracks of the titles:

- Both titles succeed when only video and audio tracks are selected.

- Both titles succeed with French subtitle tracks selected.

- Both fail when you have English subtitle tracks selected.

So something is wrong with the English subtitles, and the solution - at least for now, unless Mike can somehow fix them - is to not have subtitles for these titles, which I really don't mind for these particular commentary extras (producers talking about different subjects, on a monitor screen meant to look like one of the monitors on the island in the show).
