MKV titles considered as M2TS
MKV titles considered as M2TS
Streaming using Plex server, my Sony S5100 Blu-ray player accessing Plex is not playing some MKV titles which Plex lists as a M2TS file. The files are .mkv and play locally on the PC but I need to play them via the Blu-ray player. Why would a MKV file be mistaken for M2TS?
Re: MKV titles considered as M2TS
It is possible that the Plex profile for that device requires conversion of MKV to m2ts. Remember that a feature of Plex is on-the-fly conversions for compatibility.

Re: MKV titles considered as M2TS
All files were created using makemkv. All files have mkv extensions. Plex lists some as MKV and some as M2TS. The M2TS won't play. I don't think that the Sony Blu-ray player supports M2TS. Could newer version of makemkv have introduced a bug?
Re: MKV titles considered as M2TS
Bluray players better be able to handle m2ts, because that's what they find on BDs!
I have seen no examples of MakeMKV creating m2ts files unless you request a "backup", in which case the files WILL be a mix of play lists and transport stream files, with no MKV files.
