Moved to Blu-ray.

Are there any messages in the system log about the error?

To make sure of a few things, based on what was in the system log...

Did MakeMKV report any read errors before receiving the fatal error? (Asking because of the USB connect message is suspicious if you were in the middle of a rip)

Are you writing the output to a local device, network device, or Dropbox?

The failure occurs on the initial read(scan) of the R40 disc not during a RIP.

The BlueRay Player is an External player.

I am writing to an internal drive on my 2015 iMac. It is a 2TB fusion drive with 1.3TB of free space.

There didn't appear to be a read error thrown in the MakeMKV log that I attached nor in the console logs.

This is definitely one that Mike will have to work with you on. Send an email to support@makemkv.com with a link to this topic, and he can ask for any additional information he needs.
