Post by finito »

Hi all!! My questions is very simple. I have a multimedia HDD and don't play High@L5.1 but can do it on High@L4.1

I tried to create a MKV with MakeMKV but...don't work on my HDD
So.... i want to know what is code profile of created MKV

Thanks in advance

According to mediainfo, they are High@L4.1. (for AVC encoded movies, VC-1 movies have a different output)

makemkv copy stream from the bluray, so the resulting mkv is EXACTLY what was on the bluray disk!

Blurays are profile high@level 4.1

again, MakeMKV does NOT reencode stream.

Install mediainfo (linked in thread above) and check whether your MKV is AVC (H264) or VC-1 encoded. According to http://www.blusens.com/en/products/digital-home/T60/ your device is capable of playing H264, but VC-1 isn't mentioned there. You can use Handbrake to convert it from VC-1 to H264.

that site also mentions high @4.0

4.0 will severely limit the bitrate it can play. the 4.0 could be a typo though..

This is a mediainfo list:

Ajustes del formato, Matrix : Predeterminado
ID C?dec : V_MPEG2
ID C?dec/Info : MPEG 1 or 2 Video
Duraci?n : 49min.
Tipo de tasa de bits : Constante

I thinks is a simple MPGE codification

source is a documental fron BBC DVD so, Why can't see it??? brrrr is a pity, cause makeMKV is the best encoder...i would to use it always.....

In the other hand i was capable to see on Blusens T60 MKV high@L4.1 clearly but not high@L5.1...

firmware issue i guess

any idea??

Your player probably cant play mpeg2 in mkv container... many standalones cant/dont allow it in the firmware...

Also most players (besides software decoders) cant play H.264 high@5.1...
