Got the message today when starting MakeMKV that version 1.10.4 was defunct & I needed to upgrade. Downloaded 1.10.6 for Windows, installed it, ran it - & got the same message, as well as the version continuing to be 1.10.4. Retried several times with same result. Finally went into admin mode, completely obliterated MakeMKV folder, starting fresh.
Rebooted to normal mode. Installed MakeMKV with no trace of prior installation left. Ran it.
1.10.4, along with change-or-die message.
Huh?
Installing 1.10.6 for Windows
Re: Installing 1.10.6 for Windows
The key included in v1.10.6 expired at the end of July. You need to put in the current beta key, found here: http://makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1053
To do that, you need to get it to start, which means setting your system DATE (don't change the time) back to a date prior to the expiration of the old key, and the 25th of July 2017 should work. Start MakeMKV, then you can reset the date to the current day.
Once it is started, you can then go to Help->Register, and enter the new beta key.
