Using: Extracting "Star Wars IV: A New Hope" straight from the DVD yields the following error ("Log Debug Messages" was checked on):

I had AnyDVD running at the time. Turned it off, tried again, and same result. The disc also had the same problem when tried on a Matshita drive.

No complaints, just reporting an issue if you get time to look at it.

Edit 9-Apr-2009: [SOLVED] Confirmed that 1.4.0 beta addresses the problem with this problematical disc. Also, thank you for making File -> Open Files return to the most-recently used directory. It looks like some performance improvements made it into this release too. You guys are the best!

I have experienced the same error with the same DVD, on both my LITE-ON drive and the drive in my Dell laptop. I believe Rambo and Forgetting Sarah Marshall experienced this as well. I was able to rip just the movie from the DVDs of Rambo/FSM on DVDFab and those resulting files compiled fine in MakeMKV. The same solution did not work for A New Hope however. A New Hope did work fine in mkvmerge.

Other than those few DVDs, the program has been great!

edit: I wanted to note that mkvmerge does not preserve subtitles, chapters, or even sync audio as effortlessly as MakeMKV, so I would much prefer to use that!

As I wrote in another thread, I have the very same timecode-problem with BD "Black Hawk Down". Could you tell a bit what this strange error message causes?

tnx

This is an error produced my MKV multiplexer. The latest version (1.4.8) has a fix to what may be a cuase for this error. Please try 1.4.8 and post results here.

Well, thanks for the information. I gave it a try with the new 1.4.8 (upon the rip on the HD, made by AnyDVD HD): Behavior is as before, same "timecode" error as before:

If you have another idea what to try else, I'll try it out..
