Since upgrading to the latest version, the program no longer sees discs in the drive. The only work around I have found is to uninstall/reinstall and launch the program from the installation. Any ideas what the problem is?
TIA
Discs not recognized in drive
Re: Discs not recognized in drive
Depends upon what you're seeing.
Do you get an error about "no drives found"? If so, do you run MakeMKV as administrator, or an normal unprivileged user? Running it from the install means you're running it as an administrator (have to be, to do the install) at that moment, but, if the shortcut is not tagged as "Run as administrator", it might not be allowed to talk to the drive.
Does MakeMKV find your optical drive(s), but does not see when you insert disks? Does it see that a disk is inserted, but then gives an error that no disk is loaded? This is often the operating system taking over control of the disk, and not letting MakeMKV see it.
Have you recently RESET (as in powered-down, or shutdown and then pressed the reset button) your machine? A lot of hardware issues "disappear" when you reset the hardware.

Re: Discs not recognized in drive
Thanks. Once I set it up to run as an administrator it worked fine.
