Hello,
I wish to access BR Bonus and serie discs on BR and the only easy way is to go through menu.
So far I noticed following:
=> AACS BR Menu: MakeMKV + VLC works pretty well
=> BD+ BR Menu: MakeMKV + VLC does not work at all
Any idea on what could be done to improve the situation?
Thanks to the support team!
BR menu support for playback with VLC - Mainly for BD+
Re: BR menu support for playback with VLC - Mainly for BD+
I don't use VLC, but I'm fairly certain it's a limitation of the VLC player.
A quick 'google' yields:
Can VLC play blu ray discs?
You can download the latest version from VLC official website. However, for legal reasons, AACS and BD+ DRM libraries and keys still are not shipped. That means only Blu-ray disc with AACS libraries exposed are supported.
Of course, things change over time.

VLC + MakeMKV works perfect, I'm just asking regarding BD+ menu!
Re: BR menu support for playback with VLC - Mainly for BD+
As d00zah posted, VLC is not a licensee to AACS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_ ... ent_System) for playing back Blu-Ray discs therefore cannot officially use BD Menus, have access to AACS libraries/keys, etc, therefore one cannot use VLC or any other non-licensee such as MPC-HC to play back a ripped disc as if it were an actual disc, with menus.

Re: BR menu support for playback with VLC - Mainly for BD+
Please try VLC + AnyDVD you will see that VLC can play BR, not an issue!
It's also possible with MakeMKV (instead of VLC) but for some obscure reasons, menu are not well supported

Re: BR menu support for playback with VLC - Mainly for BD+
MakeMKV does not support menus because, as the title 'MakeMKV' implies, it is designed to create a .mkv from a/each title on a disc.
That said, the other product works at the driver level, 'on the fly', allowing it to circumvent certain protections. Different design.
