Re: Correct .mpls for The Shack (2016)
my disc does not have a 771 playlist, or any segment map that starts with 518
Re: Correct .mpls for The Shack (2016)
Redbox "The Shack" does not have 0771 mpls. Any suggestions?

The segment map is correct, no matter which *.mpls file it ends up being.
I have the RedBox disk also. If anyone knows the correct .mpls for that version, it would save us from having to search through so many.
Re: Correct .mpls for The Shack (2016)
I just checked and none of the mpls even start with 518 - they all start with 519. There are a lot of 519, 518, 502... combos. Still trying to find the right mpls - 0771 does not exist. Help appreciated!
Re: Correct .mpls for The Shack (2016)
Sorry, if I had a copy of the Redbox version I can tell you the correct mpls. I have the Retail version. Since the audio is DTS-HD MA 5.1 on the Retail copy, I thought the Redbox copy would be the same. I guess not.

how do you find the correct copy? process monitor even gives me a few hundred playlists.
Re: Correct .mpls for The Shack (2016)
Redfox AnyDVD HD application would be the fastest method if the physical disc is available. Otherwise, I would manually piece the segments together in 15 minutes.mattcoughlin wrote:how do you find the correct copy? process monitor even gives me a few hundred playlists.

I'm willing to try piecing the segments together. How do I know which segments are correct, and in which order without AnyDVD?hvnphoto wrote:Redfox AnyDVD HD application would be the fastest method if the physical disc is available. Within the BDMV folder there is a Stream folder. In the Stream folder you will see a number of m2ts files. These are the segment files for the movie. You will notice 00500.m2ts to 00520.m2ts, for example. Locate the first and last segments of the movie. In the case of The Shack (Redbox) the first segment is 518. Take a look at the end of the 518 scene. The end scene should flow into another segment of movie. Locate that segment and repeat. Eventually the movie will be complete as you piece the segments together. Hope this is clear.TigerMoth wrote:I'm willing to try piecing the segments together. I can find all the files, but they are not decrypted, obviously, so won't play on VLC or anything else. How are you looking at the last scene, how are you decrypting the files, and what are you using to piece them together?

Apparently they number the segments differently on each type of copy that they create (retail vs rental, etc.)
