[SOLVED 1.5.6 OSX] Application failed to initialize OSX

#1 Post by fumper » Sun May 23, 2010 9:43 am

Hi,
with the hopes of getting underway with HDDVD conversions i downloaded MKV this morning, but all i get is "Application failed to initialize"

is there something that i could be doing wrong? i wonder that this is only mentioned once on the forums and in the Windows part, thus my thinking goes to me doing something wrong, and not the program failing, anyone able to help?

I got the same problem after updating to 1.5.6. No way to run makemkv after the update: application failed to initialize.

Same here as well under OS 10.5.8. Makemkv 1.5.5 worked perfectly. Can I go back? I can't find a download.

Thanks!

I downgraded to 1.54beta as I had another instance running on another Mac.
With 1.54beta it works again.
I cannot find downloads for previous versions too.

Hopefully the bug with 1.5.6beta will be fixed soon. It seems to be a generic problem on Mac with 10.5 and 10.6 OS X.

Please can this be fixed soon.

Thanks!

I have the same problem. Would it be possible to make 1.5.5 available until this has been fixed?

Would be great to offer 1.55beta for download again until the problem is fixed.
