I'm sure its been asked, but how do you add a movie image to a MKV file? I've looked into MKV Merge but that doesn't really exist anymore, and MKVToolNix will let you add a attachment, but then the file size is smaller than the original MKV and I don't see the image afterwards.
So, is this possible? I'm trying to get it set up so it shows the movie images when using a DLNA server to my Samsung Smart TV........
Add movie image to mkv file??
Re: Add movie image to mkv file??
If the title has an attachment, you CAN select it; Click on the little triangle next to the title in the left menu to expand the list of tracks within the title, and you'll find "Attachment" at the bottom of the list.
I'm not sure if there is a way to automatically select it, however.
mkvmerge is part of mkvtoolnix, so it hasn't disappeared.

Plus, mkvmerge might compress any subtitles, causing the resulting file to be smaller, even though it now has a picture in it as well.
