How to rip 3D movies in my HDD to use with Oppo-103

Post by sharok »

Would you please instruct me on how to rip 3D movies to my hard drive so I can watch them using Oppo-103?

The Oppo tech support told me about side by side and top to bottom, but I do not know how to setup makemkv to do that.

I'm totally clueless and I need your instructions on how to do that.

Thank you in advance for your help.

You have to make sure you're ripping the 3D MVC track when you rip a 3D source. That is not automatic; You need to click on the little triangle next to the title in the left menu, and make sure there is a check box next to the "3D MVC" track.

This assumes you're ripping to MKV files; If you are using "Backup", the track is automatically included.

Beyond that, it's up to the Oppo to play that track correctly.

That is the problem. Oppo does not play MVC.

There are a lot of messages about this on the forum, but... the keywords to search for are too short to index, so they aren't easy to find. And there isn't a single message or thread out there contains enough information to make it "sticky" and easy to find.

Some that might answer your question:

Thanks for the directions.

It seems to be easier to just play the 3D disk than ripping it to HDD.
