Weird error since latest Win 10 'feature update'

#1 Post by dark4181 » Fri Jan 27, 2017 2:46 am

Since the Windows 10 Feature Update 1607 and subsequent patches, I've been experiencing broken or corrupted MakeMKV installs. It would begin to rip a disc, then the ETA and output size would balloon infinitely, forever. The error given was something like "structure error, attempting to work around" over and over. It would take a hard process end to make the program stop. Removing M-MKV with Revo Uninstaller and reinstalling 10.4 seems to fix the error until the OS updates again.

Anyone else seen this? Is this Microsoft attempting to clamp down on piracy?

One of the "features" Microsoft has been including for a few updates is a "better" antivirus scanner, which seems to have a hard-on for anything that contacts servers in Russia... Guess where MakeMKV.com is hosted?

Verify that parts of MakeMKV aren't suddenly appearing in the "quarantine" folder.
