Hi Guys
Just tried to MakeMKV the Avatar-3D BluRay.
the program gave me 2 Titles (one with 36 chapters, one with only 1 but both the size of 44,8 GB)
Of course I selected "Mpeg4-MVC-3D" in the video section.
2 Files of exactly the same size were created and they play.
BUT ONLY IN 2D
When playing the ISO the TV switches to 3D-mode automatically.
When playing the MKV I only have the option to select 2D to 3D on my TV (LG OLED 55C6V) because the signalling that it is 3D apparently does not work properly. (or was lost during conversion ????)
So what did I forget ?
Or is this not possible at all ?
There were a lot of .m2ts files skipped because of being less than 120 seconds
Any shedding of light onto this topic highly appreciated
3D-MKV does not switch the TV to 3D-mode
Re: 3D-MKV does not switch the TV to 3D-mode
It is doubtful that the built-in player on the TV supports 3D in an MKV file. Very few players do.
When playing from the ISO or a directory created by the MakeMKV Backup function, you are playing the m2ts files, not an MKV. I've owned a couple of players that would do 3D from m2ts but not MKV.

Thank you woodstock.
In the meantime I have found the proper thread dealing with this problem
https://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7357
So it's a player issue.
Basically I don't really need this functionality because my mediaplayer (HiMedia 900B) perfectly plays 3D-ISOs and switches the TV into proper mode.
But there are a lot of other devices around which don't support ISO playback but all of them do MKVs.
So I gave it a try and considering all that was said in the mentioned thread I had to fail....
