I am in process of burning all of my bluray collection onto a NAS drive for easy access. I have a 7.1 setup in the living room that plays HD audio and I also watch movies on the bedroom TV which is just a LG tv connected to a soundbar. My question is I want the HD audio track (DTS-HS and True-HD) tracks for the 7.1 system and also audio for the TVs in the house that will be accessing the movies. Do I burn both the HD audio track and the plan 5.1 non HD track? or just one of them.
Thanks
Reggie
Which audio tracks to burn?
Re: Which audio tracks to burn?
Audio tracks do not take up nearly as much space as video tracks, so I rip everything. MakeMKV will copy the lossy "core audio" of a lossless track out to its own track for compatibility reasons, so you do "grow" an extra track or two doing this, but it will give you the best compatibility for your audio system, now and into the future.
The tricky part is, which track do you make the default?
