This application version is too old.... Paid License

Post by c4stang » Thu Dec 08, 2016 9:43 pm

Hi,

Today I started receiving the following error:
MakeMKV v1.10.2 linux(x64-release) started
This application version is too old. Please download the latest version at / or enter a registration key to continue using the current version.
However, I have a paid license that should override this restriction as far as I understand.

It appears v1.10.2 is the newest version for Linux. How can I fix this issue?

Edit: More debugging:

I can't offer direct help on the Linux version, but it looks like the copy of the key that MakeMKV is looking at isn't the right one. Someone who uses the Linux version will have to provide the proper file that the key should be in.

As I am in exactly the same situation as the original poster, I hardly doubt that the reason is a missing key file. I would very much appreciate some professional support. MakeMKV is a great program and literally the only linux program that I payed for - because it's worth it!

I just want to use the program...

same problem as OP(application version too old). It worked until October 2016. Why is it now impossible
to use it?

This seems to be a problem with 1.10.x : My other installation with version 1.9.x and the one of my friend, 1.9.x, too, is working without a flaw...

So I went back to 1.9.7, registered my key again. Now we can watch the BD Movies that we get for Christmas :)

I have MakeMKV 1.10.0 64-bit on my Debian Jessie and it works like charm.

Have you enter that paid lisence key to MakeMKV?

Go to your home directory.

Hit Ctrl+H for hidden files. --> .MakeMKV --> settings.conf

Find line app_Key = "paste_your_key_to_here"
OS: Debian 9 (Stretch) 64-bit, KDE
ODD: TSSTcorp. CDDVDW SH-224DB
