"Straight Outta Compton" fails to open

#1 Post by sheepfarmer » Thu Sep 29, 2016 12:52 am

MakeMKV v1.10.2 darwin(x86-release) started
Optical drive "DVD+R-DL OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5670S 2AHHd" opened in OS access mode.
Optical drive "BD-RE MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ240AS 1.40d" opened in OS access mode.
Using direct disc access mode
Using Java runtime from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin/java

I get this far and then the only thing further that happens is that the Elapsed and Remaining Time counters continue to advance.

If you have debug logging turned on, what shows up in the log?

Thanks for the link to "How to aid in finding an answer...." I have sent an email, with the compressed files to support as instructed at that FAQ.

We're going to have to wait on Mike for this, which is why the email is important (he's not on the forum every day).

Usually on this sort of thing you will get some notification of an error, or MakeMKV will come back with "no disk". What you describe is consistent with MakeMKV making the read request, an nothing coming back from the operating system.

Thanks again Woodstock

While waiting for a response from Mike, I decided to try an older version of of the app - MakeMKV v1.9.10 and I was able to open the BD.

While v1.9.10 was able to open the disc, it was not able to copy the title.

I then tried v1.10.1. That version was unable to open the disc.

I sent debug log files for each version to support.
