Numerous Errors Since v1.10.1

Last week I finally got around to ripping Person of Interst Season 5, Disc 1, only to have it repeatedly have errors regarding the first episode or, finding only 2 episodes to rip. I thought it might be my disc so I set it aside. Then I borrowed my mate's and had the same errors creep up. I then began the process of trying to rip THe Blacklist Season 3, and every disc in the season is encountering the same problem, either unable to rip one of the listed episodes, or only finding 2 episodes (out of 5) that it can decrypt/rip.

Right now I am looking at

Type: Blu-ray
Lable The Blacklist S3 D2
Protection: AACS v58

My drive has a highest AACS version of 61

I am at a loss as to how to proceed to get these discs fully ripped or recognized, as in the past, when something like this would creep in, a simple update was all that was needed. I am on the current version though, and it does not appear that the discs would subject to a higher AACS version than is currently decrypted.

As I continue trying to knock out my backlog of discs to rip, I am having the same issue with Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition. I get a rather long list of

Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00018.m2ts' at offset '74913792'

Something is clearly amiss here.

This is an indicator that the disc cannot be read for ripping. You may wish to check this out: https://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopi ... 101#p46239

Try cleaning the disc carefully. If this does not help, there are probably issues with the disc created during mastering. Replace the disc, see what happens. Lastly, could be a drive issue; try a new drive. I have multiple internal drives specifically for this reason; what works in one may not work in another.

FYI, I've had more than one occasion where I've replaced a disc multiple times until I found one that ripped correctly.

I'm going to try a new drive this weekend. I'm up to 5 discs i a row now that I am experiencing this issue with, plus the "replacement" disc for Person of Interest.

I have tried using a microfiber cloth with some distilled water on it to clean the discs and it seems to have had no appreciable effect, so I am not so fortuante as to have it be something so simple.

I have also had a difficult time ripping blu rays recently. It started out with "Gods of Egypt" which my computer wouldn't even recognize. I tried 3 copies of that disc before replacing my drive. I also updated to v1.10.1 about the same time. I've noticed that now it seems to take forever on some discs for MakeMKV to scan the drive and pull up the track list but it usually still works. The extra time might be related to the fact that I realized the MakeMKV used Java to help pick the right track on some discs so I installed the JRE. Today I failed to rip 2 discs. The first gave me a bunch of medium errors which happens sometimes, maybe it's a bad disc. The other gave me the following...

The highest AACS version your MakeMKV has seen is v61, per your log, but that might not be the highest version that the drive has seen. I received disks yesterday that have v62 on them, which seems to revoke the key MakeMKV uses.

Fortunately, neither of my drives saved the revocation list into the firmware, so I can still rip prior versions of AACS, but some drives will stop responding to ANY BD reads, if they've loaded a new revocation table.

That's very possible as the drive it fresh off amazon. Maybe it was pre-loaded with a newer AACS version. Guess I'll reinstall my old drive and use it for lower AACS version discs until the next MakeMKV update. Is there a way to check the AACS version on the drive?

As I understand it, it's not so much the AACS version, but the revocation list included with it.

I wonder if there is a way to clear the revocation table?

I encountered the mass of SCSI errors on 1.10.1. (1.10.0 would not compile for me on Fedora 24.) I backreved to 1.9.10 and the problems went away. This was under Fedora 24, so your results may vary.

Try setting a higher value for retries when copying. I had to set mine to 50 to successfully copy a scratched disc.
