Grantchester

Post by RoyGBiv » Sun Aug 28, 2016 2:23 pm

Has anyone successfully copied season 2 disc 1 of Grantchester?

I get an error message about mult titles, then when I try to copy what it lets me, it tells me 3 of four titles have copied, but then the folder is completely empty.

I have the same problem only it says it only found 2 episodes. Plus the nine million errors it lists underneath the final message.

Without seeing logs, it is very hard to guess at what the issue would be.

I'd suggest both of you follow the procedures outlined in the FAQ in my signature, including mailing the files to support@makemkv.com so that Mike can look at them.

There's something different about season 2 of Grantchester. Both disk one and disk 2 displayed 2 episodes rather than three. And when ripping, I could not get any episodes out of disk 1, and only 2 out of disk 2. I got the same results on two different drives.

I should note that my dvd player had no problem playing all episodes on both disks.

Here's the drive info:

The information in this topic apply to DVDs as well as Blurays.

There are errors reading the directory structure, as well as reading the VOB files. The most usual cause for this is things like fingerprints or smudges on the disk, but even if the disk looks clean, it can still have a film on it that causes issues with reading. The unreadable area doesn't move around, so it could also be a scratch.

Same issues with season 3. The three discs have three episodes each yet only one full episode shows up when I go to rip a disc. And then the files aren't there or the disc fails to rip with errors. :( I'll just use windows capture (gamebar) to make a close-enough backup.
