makemkvcon 1.5.5 ubuntu 9.1 64bit segmentation fault

#1 Post by anothergene » Sat May 01, 2010 8:16 pm

Having some issues with the new version of 1.5.5 and backing up my Alien Quadrilogy set.

I'm using the command line version and if I tell it to back up to a fully specified path (i.e. /mnt/hd/rips/alienquad/alien.d1/) I get a Segmentation fault. If I go to that directory and try a backup to . it tells me it's started and just sits there for ever, the disc doesn't spin or anything.

Any ideas?

Please enable "log debug messages" per http://www.makemkv.com/faq/item/8/catid/6 and post the log file here.

My server does not have X installed, so what do I have to put in in my settings.conf to enable this?

Excuse my ignorance, but what is OC?
RAM = 4GB
CPU = Core i3

p.s. it is happening with pretty much any DVD I try and rip. I won't be able to try and Bluray disc till tomorrow hopefully.

It is not OverClocked if that is what you meant.

After much googleing and poking around I managed to figure out how to enable debugging on the command line.

Not much in the way of output.

Code: Select all

Debug log started at Mon May 3 18:43:50 2010 , written by MakeMKV v1.5.5 beta linux(x64-release)
Using 524544KB for read cache.
001005:0000 MakeMKV v1.5.5 beta linux(x64-release) started
001004:0000 Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as /home/gmoreau/MakeMKV_log.txt
005069:0000 Backup failed
Application exited at Mon May 3 18:43:51 2010
Update: I got one of my Blurays back today so I'm trying ripping it right now and it appears to be working, so the problems seems to be limited to just DVDs. Any DVDs. I tried 3 or 4 different ones late last night.

Backup works only for blu-rays, DVD backup is not supported.
