Fast and Furious 7

Hi All,

I have purchased fast and furious 7 blu ray disc, but when i tried to use with makemkv, the disc was continuously loading but no response, but my other blu rays like avengers and dark knight rises were converted to mkv file successfully.I can't figure out whether the disc has damaged or not ? But other discs are running fine.I assumed the disc was damaged then i raised a return request in amazon.Please someone suggest me whether the disc has damaged or is region protected.

MakeMKV doesn't care about regions. And region coding works differently on Bluray than on DVD, in any case.

Continuously "loading" can be a sign that the disk is unreadable at the root directory area. I would try cleaning it with a damp soft cloth (cotton or microfiber), and try loading it again. The disk loading equipment of some BD houses seems to have gotten worse about leaving a film of chemicals on disks, as the number of BDs I've had to wash before ripping has climbed.

Thanks Woodstock, but as i already mentioned, i am in the process of returning the disc, but when i buy again(sooner this week) if the same problem occurs then i will try your suggestion.

Also i live in india, when i visited makemkv.com there is option of registering for key, but the buy option is showing in 50 euros(if am not wrong) but how can i purchase it in indian currency ?

I cannot help with the currency issue, other than to repeat what Mike has said in the past; he set the price in US dollars, and the fulfillment house (Avangate) takes care of currency conversions and taxes. It's supposed to be based on what country you're in.

I have brought another fast and furious 7 blu ray from amazon, now the movie rips till 16gb (total 31gb) and stops there,any idea why it is happening like this, please help.

What does the log say when it hits that limit? Are you certain you're not running into a disk space issue?

From messages posted by Mike a year or so ago, there are some drives that, if they can "mostly" read a sector, will return whatever they could read, WITHOUT flagging that an error occurred. If what was returned makes no sense, you get the "corrupt or invalid" message, and MakeMKV tries various work-arounds to see if it can get valid data. When it runs out of work-arounds, it gives up.

Try making a backup of the disk. Does it fail on the same file?
