I tried searching my Ubuntu minimal install for the .MakeMKV installation and can't seem to find it. MakeMKV works and I located makemkv and makemkvcon files in the /usr/bin directory, but no .MakeMKV folder. Can anyone tell me where to find it? Thanks.
Btw, I made sure to search hidden folders/files as well. Tried to find it through terminal with locate function but no luck.
Can't find .MakeMKV directory
Re: Can't find .MakeMKV directory
huh? there is no /.makemkv/
you can make one your self of course... and point makemkv to it in the preferences.

Re: Can't find .MakeMKV directory
Oh ok. Then where is the settings.conf file for MakeMKV where I would enter the new beta key? i was referencing this post from a user earlier.

Re: Can't find .MakeMKV directory
You can create one your self
/home/<user>/.MakeMKV/settings.conf
or if you 'register' in the gui, it will create the file and folder for you.

Re: Can't find .MakeMKV directory
Has anyone been able to get this to work? My evaluation period is expired and putting the new BETA key in settings.conf doesn't seem to make any difference. Do I need anything in setting.conf besides the appKey? It's the only line in my file.
Re: Can't find .MakeMKV directory
Code: Select all
cat settings.conf
...
app_Key = "T-o4vIHFtFMG0O4H5u0NT40YJcRLnfXk2j1O0Yiy3O6YrwbHga7kWEYays4AS6MTK9h9"
...
Re: Can't find .MakeMKV directory
Ouch. Completely my fault. I forgot the underscore in app_Key. Sorry to waste everyone's time.
Re: Can't find .MakeMKV directory
@skittles. Ah ok. Thanks for that. I'm running Ubuntu minimal so no GUI. I'll create the the .MakeMKV directory manually and put the key into settings.conf.
Re: Can't find .MakeMKV directory
Hello)) What will the pricing scheme look like when MakeMKV is no longer beta? Will MakeMKV work properly for blu-ray playback within Fedora?
