How do I rip a title WITHOUT the video stream?
How do I rip a title WITHOUT the video stream?
I ripped a title with video stream and audio stream, but not the subtitle stream. Lately I decided it would be nice to let my backup also include the subtitle. Of course, rip everything again and combine them does the trick but ripping the video stream costs hours (riplock). Can I uncheck the video stream in the next version of MakeMKV? Or somehow it's doable in the current version? Thanks.
Re: How do I rip a title WITHOUT the video stream?
I suspect that riplock will get you. The reason is that the M2TS file needs to be read in order to extract the subtitle. So, it will make no difference.
Re: How do I rip a title WITHOUT the video stream?
Yes, riplock will get in the way in any case.
Depending on the drive, it might NOT be riplock, though - Panasonic has a "quiet mode" that limits the speed to keep noise down, but you can tell the drive to be noisy and get full speed. It requires a Windows utility that comes with the drive, or is available from the Panasonic website.
If it is riplock, you might be able to get other firmware that doesn't limit the speed.
