Reorder tracks

Post by LonelyPixel » Sat Jul 23, 2016 2:07 pm

Can I change the order of audio and subtitle tracks when converting from DVD to MKV? English comes first but I want another language to be selected when the file is opened.

I don´t know if it´s possible with Make Mkv but I think it´s not possible.I use X-Media Recode to change the subtitle and audio order. But it is possible to disable the other subtitles with MakeMkv.

mkvmerge will allow you to rebuild a MKV file and re-arrange to order of things. You can even remove items when rebuilding.

When MakeMKV is in expert mode it is possible to select the order of different tracks in selection menus and the defaut ones:

To select the defaut audio or subtitle, in "mkv flags" type a "d" in corresponding track. If no subtitle is selected with "d", none of them is shown automaticatically, although it can be selected later when playing the movie.

Other different flag that can be used is "f" for forced tracks.

To change the order of tracks in selection menus when playing you can use the "track weight" so tracks with smaller number are shown first.
