Rips have no audio

#1 Post by mlefoo » Thu May 19, 2016 10:21 pm

Hello, I have tried ripping two movies now and they both have not had any audio. I did a previous rip and the audio track was present but that was back in the middle of winter. The audio boxes are checked when i go to begin the rip. Any idea why I am not getting audio?

How do you know you're not getting audio?

Check your playback software - you may have disks that have audio not supported by the player. Try playing them in VLC (from videolan.org), and check the Audio menu to see what is available.

I tried the movies that werent giving me audio in VLC and they would not play at all. I tried the movie that I had already ripped and it played in VLC. does this mean the two movies i was trying to rip have yet to be supported/unlocked by VLC or MakeMKV, or could this be something else?

It could be something else - do you have debug logging turned on, and can you post the log from the rip? (FAQ in signature tells you how to do that)
