select output resolution?

#1 Post by ryukenden » Sat Apr 23, 2016 7:34 pm

I ripped a blu-ray movie but the output is like 12gb in 1080p. I want to make it 720p, is there a easy way instead of reconverting again with another program?

As Rita points out, MakeMKV isn't going to do it - you MUST recode the video if you're changing its resolution, and a tool like handbrake is the way to go.

An alternative to changing the resolution is to reduce the bit rate. I have used
BD Rebuilder to compress .m2ts files of that size to 5 GB and they still look good. btw I often used MakeMKV to get that .m2ts file.
