Good afternoon,
I'm having issues with the Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close blu-ray that I'm hoping someone can help with. The error log is copied below. I'm guessing this is either an error with the drive (hope not as less than one month old) or the disc. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rich

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
Re: Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
The sequence of errors could be a bad spot on the disk (even just a fingerprint), or it could be the drive going off-line for some reason. So cleaning the disk is the first thing to do.
Internal desktop drive, internal laptop drive, or external? Each has different reasons for why it might go off-line in the middle of a rip.

Re: Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
Thanks Woodstock. It is an external drive; Samsung SE-506. I've tried cleaning the disc a couple of times but will give it another go.
Re: Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
USB-powered externals can run out of power if they reach full speed on reads. And for longer tracks, MakeMKV can read in excess of 16x if there is no restriction on writing the results to disk.
It is important that they be plugged in to a port that has full power available, which means either a powered hub or a port on the computer, and if the computer is a laptop, it should be plugged in for the rip. They'll work fine without full power at lower speeds, but MakeMKV tries to rip at the fastest speed the system can handle...

Re: Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
Thanks Woodstock. I've had a few more attempts and played around with the power settings a bit, but still no luck. The laptop was plugged in but maybe the USB connection is the issue.
