MakeMKV doesn't recognize all content on BluRay (Doctor Who)

#1 Post by dreameater » Sun Mar 27, 2016 12:12 am

I hope I'm posting this in the right place because it's not an error message per se.
I wanted to rip my Doctor Who BluRays and it worked fine with the episodes and some of the extras that were on the discs, but not all of them. Some things like trailers or minisodes that, when you put the BD in the BD-player, are in a kind ob sub menu don't even get listed.

When I insert a disc from season 8, the disc the trailers are on, I get this list: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=5 ... hoto%2cjpg

That's all the content in the main menu, including the menu videos, but not the trailers in the "sub menu". Same thing happens when I try to rip minisodes from other discs. I'd like to have them in HD for video editing. Does anyone have an idea how I can rip them?

First question - what is your minimum title length set to (Preferences, first page) ? If it is set too long, you won't see a lot of shorter titles.

Make sure you have debug logging turned on (FAQ link in my signature tells you how to turn it on). What does the log show while doing the scan of the disk, prior to putting up the selection menu? That will tell us what MakeMKV sees and doesn't see.

Thank you so much! The trailers really were too short for my selected minimum length, so at least I got that working now (and now I feel kinda stupid for not seeing that earlier). I will have a look at the minisodes tonight, hopefully that'll fix that as well. Thank you!
